This is a material play with the aim to question the potential of drawing.

This is an initial play of graphite with house paint which lead to the development of my "swirled drawings".

Following my second year I began to play around a bit with masking tape as a medium. This drawing is made solely of making tape and black paper, like pixels, I applied the black paper to rolled masking tape and formed a composition on paper afterwards. I may experiment more with this process and sealing it under acrylic.

a one hour study from within the classroom, I applied the graphite liberally and joyfully.

This machine was created from the re-purposing of my tapping machine in year 2. The machine is meant to produce marks on paper.

This is a performance with a wire tapping machine I built. The wire is meant to act as drawing in three dimensional space rather than on a surface.

working from a model I used some imagination to create a seen. Again the door imagery appears in the background.

An early model study, it was my favourite drawing at the time and was also sadly done on newsprint. Now I only use better paper in case these moments happen again.

This is the earliest drawing I have in my possession. It was a turning point for me as I used an eraser to remove all my hard rendered work and freed up my hand to make the drawing compositionally sound.

I worked a large surface of paper similar to how "Close Quarters" was produced, but then I photographed and cropped certain sections that worked compositionally to form final pieces.

At the beginning of the year I was a bit unsure of what approach I should take in drawing, I had some performance based ideas but was interested in the surface of paper. This drawing was done by isolating myself into a space with room only for my paper, and attempting to produce marks onto it in this environment.

After completion of a series of snow drawings I was left with a large amount of snow filled with materials. This material filled snow was left atop paper to melt. Luckily enough it rained, which quickly melted the snow and set the material into the wet paper overnight.

This large gestural space is expressive and captures "the artist at play". Its eye-like feature gazes deeply at the viewer.

With inspiration from the work of Cy Twombly, these drawings are done by swirling graphite through house paint.
